This is the 2004 helmet. It's theme is not monkeys, but rather cats and dogs and their descent from the sky. It should be available at better bike shops, and if they don't have it they might can order it.

I'm hearing from peoples that these helmets are becoming scarce. Call Bell Sports (Santa Cruz, CA) and tell them to make more.

As with Monkeytown, I am collecting pictures of happy children wearing this brain-bowl. Send me pictures! See happy head-safe children below!

I received this picture from a dedicated helmet wearer in Sacramento. I will call her "Perrie." She will look back at this photo that her dad sent to me one day, and then never talk to him again.

Also, this the best picture ever.

helmet

This child (name unknown - I saw her from a distance and nearly gave her mother a coronary as I ran up with my camera) was spotted on May 8, 2004 in Rittenhouse Square here in Philadelphia. She was very happy and had no visible head injuries.

jay and molly

This man and child were spotted riding bikes in Valley Forge on Memorial Day weekend, 2004. His name: "Jay." Her name: "Molly." She had no visible head injuries nor anyinjury-related odd behavior.

Here is "Molly" again displaying the awesome comfort of the L'il Bell Shell.

wilson and elliot

These two children were also spotted at Valley Forge. They show signs of odd behavior, probably caused by genetics or too much television. It is certain that whatever is the matter was not caused by any spill while wearing their helmet. (Note: the one on the right is sporting the Monkeytown helmet!)
